1 soldier is dead, 2 others injured in fire at U.S. Army Signal School Detachment (Initial release)
FORT MEADE, M.d., One soldier died after a fire broke out at 8 a.m. at the U.S. Army Signal School Detachment.
One soldier and an unidentified person were transported to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where the soldier was pronounced dead on arrival.
Another soldier is in critical condition and was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital.
The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes by Fort Meade Fire Department personnel.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
